THE SHINING comes to San Francisco June 2-4, 2023

On August 18, 2022, SANCTUARY ROAD - written with librettist Mark Campbell — will be performed at the Chautauqua Institution by the Chautauqua Symphony under the direction of Rossen Milanov.

SANCTUARY ROAD — which began its life as an oratorio in 2018 — is now an opera brilliantly re-imagined for the stage by Dennis Whitehead Darling and North Carolina Opera.

Sanctuary Road draws on the astonishing stories to be found in William Still’s memoir, The Underground Railroad, which documents the network of secret routes and safe houses used by African- American slaves to escape into free states and Canada during the early to mid-1800s.
